“그 사람 이름은 밴 홀렌 상원의원이에요 제가 사는 주에서 정말 많은 좋은 일을 했어요 자신을 뽑아준 사람들과 메릴랜드 주민들을 위해 문제를 해결하려는 점이 정말 존경스러워요 앞으로도 계속 좋은 일을 해주길 바랍니다”
“His name is Senator Van Hollen He’s done a lot of great work in my state And all of the work that he's doing to try and address the issues for the folks that elected him is something that I highly admire and I want to continue to see him do great work”

“지금은 일론 머스크를 정치인이라고 봐야 할지 모르겠어요 미국에서는 기존 질서를 흔들 수 있는 위치에 있는 사람이죠 원래는 사업가 관점에서 나오고 있고요 도널드 트럼프와 일론 머스크는 억만장자잖아요 전 세계에서 가장 부유한 사람들 중 일부예요 그래서 정치에 대한 시각이 국가가 세워진 원칙에서 점점 멀어지고 있다는 느낌이 듭니다 요즘 많은 사람들이 일자리를 잃고 있어요 해고당하거나, 추방되기도 하고요 그래서 사회적 스트레스가 커지고 있어요 변화가 어렵다는 건 알지만 이게 과연 필요한 변화인지 모르겠어요 앞으로 몇 년간 어떻게 될지 지켜봐야겠죠”
“Right now, it’s hard to say whether Elon Musk is a politician or not Elon Musk is kind of in a position to shake things up I think he’s coming from a business perspective We know Donald Trump and Elon Musk, they’re billionaires some of the richest men in the entire world So they have perspective on politics straying away from the principles that our country was founded on We see a lot of folks struggling to find work people are losing jobs or being kicked out it’s putting a lot of stress on people I know change is difficult I’m not sure if this is the change we need We’ll see over the next couple of years”

“저우언라이 총리입니다 중국에 큰 업적을 남긴 인물이에요 개인적으로 정말 존경합니다”
“Actually, he is Zhou Enlai Very great achievements for China and I respect him personally”

Q. 별로 좋아하지 않는 정치인도 있으신가요?
“특정 인물을 판단하는 건 좋지 않다고 생각해요 그 사람도 잘못된 선택을 했을 수는 있죠 본인이 원하지 않았던 결정이었을 수도 있고요 중요한 건 세상을 더 나아지게 만드는 거라고 생각해요 절반 정도라고 생각해요”
“I don’t think it’s good to judge a particular person maybe he could be misguided maybe it’s not the decision he wanted what makes this world better in my opinion, fifty-fifty”

“사토 사오리입니다 일본을 더 나은 방향으로 이끌고 싶어 하는 분이에요 정말 열심히 싸우고 있어요 저는 젊은 여성이고 공인회계사예요”
“My favorite politician is Sato Saori We want to lead Japan in a better direction she’s fighting and trying very hard I’m a young woman who’s a certified public accountant”

“이시바 시게루요 일본이 점점 나빠지고 있다는 느낌이 들어요 그렇다고 생각해요 일본인들은 행동으로 나서는 데 익숙하지 않은 것 같아요”
“Ishiba Shigeru it feels like Japan is going worse I think so I don’t think Japanese people have the ability to act”

“좋아하는 정치인은 특별히 없어요 팬데믹 시기에 규칙을 만들던 정치인들이 기억에 남아요 저는 중립이에요 중립국 사람이니까요”
“People who made the rules during the pandemic I’m neutral We are a neutral country”

“이 나라를 발전시키고 행정적으로 잘했다고 느껴진 사람은 이명박 대통령입니다 사람 자체가 좋았다고 느낀 분은 노무현 대통령입니다 사실 정치인을 전반적으로 좋아하진 않아요 다 거기서 거기인 느낌이에요 가장 호감 가는 정치인은 안철수 의원이에요 자기 소신대로 움직이는 게 보여서요 한국 정치는 너무 극단적인 것 같아요 원활한 토론이 잘 안 되는 느낌이라 중도적인 역할이 중요하다고 생각해요”
“Someone who developed the country well and functionally did a good job is Former President Lee Myung-bak As a person, someone I liked is Former President Roh Moo-hyun I don’t really like politicians in general They feel all similar The politician I like the most is Ahn Cheol-soo Because he seems to act based on his beliefs Korean politics feel very polarized There isn’t much constructive discussion I think a centrist role is very important”

“윤석열 대통령은 좋지 않은 선례를 남겼다고 생각해요 정치 경험이 부족한 상태에서 대통령이 되었고 그래서 리더십에서 한계가 드러났다고 느껴요 그를 통해 리더의 역할이 얼마나 중요한지 느꼈습니다”
“I think President Yoon Suk-yeol left bad precedents He became president without much political experience which led to weaknesses in leadership and caused negative outcomes Through him, I realized how important leadership really is”
